HEC Global Learning Centre works in five main areas:
We have a resource centre with materials for primary and secondary schools and we work closely with Tower Hamlets Schools Library Service.
We produce learning resources including: Global Leaflets, Global Boxes, StoryTents
and publications such as Bangladeshi Children in our schools; Storyworlds; We live In the East End; the big book Play on the Line and the board game Locococo.
We offer a range of packages for pupils, and training for teachers including:
• Critical thinking and pupil led enquiry through Philosophy for Children (P4C)
• Children's rights, participation and school councils
• ICT (digital video, animation and web-page development)
• Sustainable schools and carbon reduction
• Literacy, values and skills through global stories
• Online perception mapping with children
• School Linking - locally, nationally and internationally
We also provide training and advice on a range of global development and sustainability issues for teachers and other educators.
Partners, (Local Authorities, Initial Teacher Education institutions, Development NGOs and other organisations), and National and Regional Sustainability and School Linking Networks, including
London Global Teachers Network.
