Global Citizenship across the curriculum: 3 day
This exciting resource has been developed in conjunction with West Sussex teachers and Healthy Schools Team and trialled by primary schools in the county.
A three day training course focusing on this resource will encourage participants to:
Recognise Global Citizenship as a whole school ethos, with links to all curriculum areas
Understand and address issues embodied in current agendas such as ‘Prevent' and ‘Every Child Matters'
Address controversial issues in the school community with confidence
Increase pupils' knowledge, critical thinking skills, motivation and self-esteem
Weave identity, globalisation and justice into the curriculum through a questioning approach
Become a catalyst for change
Global citizenship for early years: 1 day
Courses for nurseries and early years which promote global awareness for younger children.
• Supporting staff teams to foster understanding and respect of equalities, social justice and global environmental concerns with pre school and early years children.
• Discuss language and terminology to give confidence in challenging descriminatory behaviour.
• Introducing resources and childrens books that develop children's awareness of the wider world.
