What do we mean by the Global Dimension?

candlesThe terms ‘Global Dimension', ‘Development Education', ‘Global Citizenship' and ‘Education for Sustainable Development' relate to the same basic aims and principles: actively promoting social justice, equity and sustainable development.

In education, the global dimension is in evidence most effectively through a whole-school approach. It enables teachers and pupils to develop the understanding, skills and attitudes that will lead them to behave responsibly towards each other and towards the earth itself. In turn, focused themes and curriculum subjects contribute towards a learning experience with a global dimension.

You will find specific information in the outcomes section and on the websites of the local organisations.
