 9.30 - 10.30  World in our school: the journey of a rural community Jane Lloyd, Head and Mandy Warwick, teacher, Clanfield School, Oxfordshire

10.30 - 11.30 Workshop 1a       OR   Workshop 1b Growing up Global Foundation Stage/Yr 1     RISC
Explore why we need to start Global Education with very young pupils, and how to do it. This session includes opportunities to try out a selection of practical activities, look at a range of recently published resources and think about ways you can take this forward in your school.  
Developing curiosity and empathy using objects and pictures KS1-2                                  WEDG

This workshop will give teachers the confidence and knowledge to use pictures and objects with children in a variety of ways that address global elements in their daily practice and contribute to an understanding of global issues.

 1.45 - 2.45  Workshop 2a             OR   Workshop 2b   Beyond Masks and Drums: African Art without the Stereotypes KS1 - 2                                  RISC        
Are you planning an African Arts week? This workshop will introduce participants to the work of a selection of visual artists from across the continent of Africa. Their work challenges traditional stereotypes with its innovative use of reclaimed materials and contemporary themes. The workshop includes examples of children's work from yrs 2-6 inspired by the artists.  
Making global connections through food KS1-2  CGA

A circus of activities to investigate the choices we make and what informs those choices. Providing an opportunity to explore the social, ethical and environmental impacts of these choices. 

2.45 – 4.00 A global Christmas         (session for all participants)
This workshop will show how schools can deliver Global Citizenship through their festive celebrations and work towards a peaceful Christmas, a sustainable Christmas, a fair Christmas and a diverse Christmas.
